An Update and FYIs

It’s been fun this week to see work on the parking lot just outside my office window. Quieter work has been happening inside and not just on the building. Updates on construction will keep coming from others, but here are few from me that may be of interest to you.

#1: Status of our strategic visioning process/2024-2025 ministry plan
Staff has worked to put “who” and “by when” to various goals that emerged from the process and given this document to Council for review. Due to the timeline of the process Council did not have opportunity to give meaningful input prior to its June meeting (Council does not meet in July). After August Council meeting this will have happened. Later this month when the plan is finalized you’ll hear more.

#2: Worship plans for 2024-2025
In 2023-2024 conversations leaders judged that for The Well to be effective in reaching MSU students and those not used to church we needed to build The Well attendance to average of about 30 people each week. Since we were not able to reach that attendance mark we’ve decided to pause The Well for at least the 2024-2025 ministry year and continue the 10:00 AM worship time into the fall.

#3: Administrator position
Council leaders are reviewing the job description and considering next steps. We’re grateful to Carol Roehl for temporarily stepping in to cover financial tasks and to Stacey Adams and others for taking on extra duties.

As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

God Bless,
Pastor Brent
