Council Update on RTC/CRC Matters—March 2025
Council continues to engage on matters related to the denomination. Here is a current summary:
- RTC’s letter of intent to disaffiliate was given to Classis Lake Erie at its March 1 meeting.
- Following the CRC Church Order, Classis is sending two representatives, Dr. Randall Engle of North Hills CRC in Troy and Rev. Alex Snider of Imlay City CRC, to meet with RTC’s Council; their prescribed task is to attempt to dissuade Council from disaffiliation. Council is holding an extra meeting in April (on the 10th) to give this conversation adequate attention.
- Council has also reengaged the Task Force to consider how voting should be conducted if we move forward with an initial congregational disaffiliation vote.

- Council received a letter from Rev. Clayton Libolt informing us that he has resigned from the CRC and from Revs. John and Susan Medendorp informing us that they have transferred their ministerial credentials to New Era CRC.
Council is working together thoughtfully, cooperatively, and prayerfully. As always, we appreciate hearing from you and ask you to pray for us and our church—that the Lord will lead us to serve him well.
