Our strategic visioning process at this point is something like a vegetable garden in early summer: things are starting to take shape. Here’s a reminder of the process and an update.
Earlier this year we contracted with Matt Visser of Design Group International to help us develop a rolling strategic visioning process—a process that will give us a template for developing 1/2/3 year goals year after year. In early spring Matt met with me and guided Council and staff in giving input. This was followed by an April meeting at which the congregation was invited to do so. Matt Visser then organized and distilled all this input for Council and staff, and staff spent most of a day and several of its weekly meetings drafting goals and tactics. The new 2024-2025 Council recently received the draft plan in order to offer their input.
I realize that this update is more like looking at a vegetable garden sketched out on paper than actually seeing anything green. Council does not meet in July, and I’m off some too. But by sometime in August we’ll be able to share some of the fruit of our work for all to see–and may already be eating some (fyi: tomatoes are a fruit).
